UMYF met Sunday September 25, in the Youth room on the the 3rd floor of the Education building to meet the new Youth director, DeeAnn Smith, and to discuss up-coming events.  The Sr. High and Jr. High youth decided to continue to meet together on Sundays from 4:30-6:00.  They discussed fundraisers used in the past and the need to plan a fundraising event for November.  The youth agreed it would be fun to start a band and eventually play on a Sunday during the service to accompany the congregation and to occassionally teach them a new song.  As a group they played a game of "fruit" and discussed fun activities that they would like to do in the future such as bowling, movies, and a ski trip. 

The youth willingly decided to expand their knowledge by participating  in a new devotional study titled, "Three Simple Rules," and will begin that study October 5th.  On occasion they will join the Episcal youth group in Gospel and Grub.  It feels like it is going to be a great year!
